The Holy Spirit must have just led me here! I honestly thought I was the only one in this dilemma. After many years of earnestly, prayerfully and proactively looking for a biblically sound church I have not been able to find one.

I am a member of a Christian medical sharing group that requires faithful membership and attendance in a local church. It is time for my yearly renewal and I have no church that I can with a good conscience toward God submit to in good faith and practice. Regretfully, the organized “church” has become an apostate, political social club full of false doctrine and no love for our precious Lord Jesus Christ. His name is rarely even mentioned. The glory of the Lord has departed from them. Ichabod comes to my mind.

My heart is so very heavy about this, because I know we are commanded to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. I have prayed and prayed for God to show me what to do. Thank you for sharing your own struggles. This has helped me to not lose heart.

None of this takes the Lord by surprise. The Great Apostacy is truly one of the major signs in Bible prophecy of our Lord’s imminent return for His church.

You’re right that sometimes lonely people are hard to spot. many lonely people hide it well. If we are alert and ask the Lord to make us sensitive to others’ needs we may recognize it. There have been times when I did not want to get involved in someone’s life even after I recognized their need for friendship. That’s a response I hope to never repeat again if I can help it.
